The folks at Veritas and Wheelie Fun in Ohio sent us this ti aero bike. I'm not sure where they got the shaped ti tubes, but it would sure be good to know. The top tube and seat stays are carbon as well as the aero fork, but the customer wanted the whole frame a solid deep dark metallic purple. We are working out the details for the moon and stars as well as logos, so be sure and check back in the next day or so.

This is one of the more bitchin' head badges in recent memory. It appears to be laser or water cut into the ti headtube. Super cool.

For the deep dark colors, we start with a base of black. Because the carbon is involved, this job will be all liquid.

It was snowing yesterday, so I had to wait for the sun to get a shot of this color. It looks to be about a foot deep in real light.

We will work on the graphics tomorrow. We had to really doctor up the clear to get the purple color, so it has to sit overnight anyway.

We got to the downtube logos today, we will finish up the graphic work tomorrow. Since this is usually a two color logo and we wanted to keep it simple with one color, we did a "negative shadow" for the part that would ordinarily be another color. Very clean and simple, and you don't have to throw another color into the mix.

The color is gorgeous! I LOVE the logo! I can't wait to ride this baby! Looking forward to more pics today, as the stars and moon take shape!

Glad you like the color; it is super cool. In the sun it looks like you flipped on a light switch. Anyway, the stars are coming along too.

After the main silver stars (a negative mask), we will put down some "positive" stars and dust them with a heavy pearl mix to ghost them here and there.

These ghosted stars will be subtle, almost un noticable until the final clear.

Jen-

Thanks for joining our forum and letting us know what you think. It's great to have "real time" feedback and input. Our hope for starting the forum was to offer people the chance to keep tabs on thier projects as we work on them ,as well as let people know how we do what we do.

Anyway, back to the good stuff.
This set of masks creates a negative star.

This mask set makes positive stars.

Anyway, here is a close up of a "positive" star. I am going to final clear it later today, I will try to get a good picture of your frame in the sun later today or first thing Monday.

The pictures don't really do this color justice, but you get the idea.

Jen, we're glad that like your frame...Jt did a nice job on this on. We are happy to be sharing in the process with
customers via. the forum. I think it makes it a little more "fun" across the board.
